Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sweet apples (Gala, Fuji, or McIntosh)
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples without peeling them to retain flavor.
  2. In an Instant Pot: Combine all ingredients in the pot, seal the lid, and cook on high pressure for 18 minutes. Release steam manually.
  3. Stovetop: Combine all ingredients in a large pot, bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes until apples are soft.
  4. Strain the mixture into a pitcher using a fine mesh sieve to remove solids.
  5. Allow tea to cool and transfer to sealed containers for storage.
