  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk and water; sprinkle yeast and let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add softened butter, eggs, sugar, cocoa powder, red food coloring, and vanilla extract; whisk until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour and salt; gradually add to wet ingredients while stirring.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface until soft and elastic (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt; set aside.
