Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour
  • granulated sugar
  • baking powder
  • ground cinnamon
  • salt
  • unsweetened applesauce
  • vegetable oil
  • milk (dairy-free if preferred)
  • vanilla extract
  • brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix unsweetened applesauce, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. For the cinnamon swirl, mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. In a greased loaf pan, layer half of the batter, top with half of the cinnamon mixture, add remaining batter and finish with the rest of the swirl.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
