  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with foil, spraying it with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and dark cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, eggs, espresso powder, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Mix in the chocolate mixture until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine salt, baking powder, and flour. Gradually mix into wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes or until a toothpick comes out slightly sticky.
  6. For frosting, combine heavy cream and instant coffee granules in a bowl. Beat softened butter with salt and gradually add powdered sugar along with the coffee mixture until fluffy.
  7. Once brownies cool completely, frost generously and top with melted dark chocolate mixed with cream.
